Hawkeye Community College HESC
The Health Education and Service Center (HESC) provides a 46,400 square foot facility that will serve the health and fitness needs of Hawkeye’s students and staff while also serving as a recruitment tool for the College. This building completes the use of funding dollars from the 2003 bond issue.

The building provides a permanent home for the Student Health Clinic, Student Life programs, classroom and lab space for the Occupational/Physical Therapy Assistant programs, Criminal Justice programs and other health related programming. The building contains a competition size gym floor, aerobics room, indoor running track and a weight/cardio fitness center.
The masonry/concrete structure has been designed to LEED Silver standards using local materials, a geothermal HVAC system and high efficiency lighting. The building also takes advantage of natural lighting and views to the exterior.

Building is scheduled to be complete in December.
