Perry Performing Arts Center

The new center for the performing arts for Perry High School was designed as a multi-use facility to be used for both the district’s needs and that of the City of Perry and their local community theater program.  This addition onto the existing high school provided a needed 660-seat auditorium with full-fly loft stage as well as back stage storage and workspaces.

The theater’s house was designed with the front have being gently raked and the back half of the room steeply raked in order to provide better views and make the room seem more intimate.  Curved acoustical reflecting clouds and a darker color scheme give the room a modern and more technical feel that was desired by the owner.  The sound and lighting systems are designed to be controlled from two locations, in the control room and within and space in the house itself.
